Join us for a series of 3 lecture recitals at Princeton Public Library!


Faculty members Molly Sanford, Alexa Stier, and Carla Salas-Ruiz, along with students from the Program for Excellence in Piano Studies, will engage the community with a series of informative performances and lectures at the Princeton Public Library this spring. All are welcome—we look forward to seeing you there!




February 22 | John Williams' Film Scores: Transcriptions for Solo Piano


Molly Sanford will bring music of the famous film composer John Williams into classical piano repertoire. Listeners will discover a wide variety of pieces from film scores such as "The Book Thief," "E.T.," "Raiders of the Lost Ark," "A.I. Artificial Intelligence" and "Lincoln." Learn about the process of transcribing orchestral music from a professional pianist, and hear original transcriptions created for this recital program.



March 1 | Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns


Join Alexa Stier and Carla Salas-Ruiz for an engaging four-hands piano recital of “The Carnival of the Animals” by Camille Saint-Saëns. Designed for children of all ages, this interactive experience combines live music, vivid projections, and creative activities, inspiring young listeners to explore music through movement, percussion and imagination.



March 8 | Behind the Scenes: Live Movie Soundtrack Creation with Piano Inspires Kids


This session showcases short films accompanied by live piano performances of original soundtracks. Attendees will learn about the creative process behind composing for film, hear how music enhances storytelling, and experience the synchronization of live music with on-screen action. For all ages and interests in music and film.
