NSMS Bids a Bittersweet Farewell to Trevor Thornton

NSMS

It is with mixed emotions that we bid farewell to our colleague and friend, Trevor Thornton, as he returns to his home state to join the faculty of Tennessee State University in Nashville. Trevor will be teaching Music Appreciation and accompanying in his new role.

Trevor first came to NSMS in 2018 to take part in the Teaching Apprenticeship Program – an intensive year of observations, co-teaching, and pedagogy courses. Following that experience, Trevor became an integral member of our faculty, and served as interim Admissions Director in 2021-2022.

Administrative Director, Rebecca Pennington, writes, "Trevor Thornton has been a valuable member of the NSMS faculty. His beautiful performances, excellent teaching, and kind and encouraging personality have impacted students and faculty alike. We will miss Mr. Thornton, but congratulate him on this new opportunity and wish him well!"

Trevor, you will forever be a part of our NSMS family. We truly wish you all the best as you begin this exciting new chapter. Please keep in touch and come back often.
